What personal data does Mensen met een Missie collect and what is done with it?

Mensen met een Missie processes your name, gender, address details, telephone number, e-mail address, relationship number, financial details, date of birth and reading behaviour of newsletters for:
• Receiving donations and the associated rights and obligations
• Managing the donor administration
• Managing the financial administration
• Fundraising
• Sending targeted information and invitations to meetings
• Statistical research (anonymized)
• Newsletter recipients

Mensen met een Missie processes your (name, gender,) e-mail address, date of registration, relationship number and reading behaviour of newsletters for:
• Sending mailings that you have signed up for
• Fundraising
• Statistical research (anonymized)

Other interested parties

When requesting information or registering for meetings for interested parties, Mensen met een Missie only processes personal data that are necessary for that purpose. This concerns your name, address details, telephone number, e-mail address, date of birth and reading behaviour of newsletters for:
• Sending the information you have requested
• Sending targeted information about a meeting for which you have registered
• Fundraising
• Statistical research (anonymised)

Retention Period

Mensen met een Missie does not store personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which the data were collected.
The retention period for personal data depends on the purpose for which the personal data are used. For example, certain personal data (such as the name and address of friends, donors and other endowers) that are processed for legal purposes must be kept for seven years. After the storage of your personal data is no longer necessary, they will be deleted.

Security, confidentiality and external parties

We are aware that personal data has been entrusted to us and that we must manage this confidentially. Personal data are kept securely and carefully and for no longer than is necessary for use within Mensen met een Missie or for the purpose for which they were collected.
Mensen met een Missie have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against loss or against any form of unlawful processing.

Access to personal data

Within Mensen met een Missie tracked personal data are managed by the employees at the office in The Hague. Only the employees in charge of the donor administration can view the donor data and make changes. Other employees of the organization can view relationships and (part of) their personal data if this is necessary for the execution of their tasks.

For all employees, authentication is mandatory both to access the Mensen met een Missie environment as well as a separate authentication for access to specific applications that provide access to personal data.
All employees are informed about a careful way of handling personal data.
Each time personal data are processed involves human action. Mensen met een Missie does not make decisions based on automatically processed data through profiling or any other form of automated decision-making.

Exchange of personal data with external parties

Personal data are used exclusively for the activities of Mensen met een Missie and are therefore not shared with external organizations, unless the relations concerned give their explicit consent or unless a legitimate purpose is served with the involvement of external service providers. Personal data are shared with such external service providers for the facilitation of the financial administration, the sending of magazines and other mailings and digital mailings, management of (e-mail)servers, hosting of the website, etc. When Mensen met een Missie has personal data processed by external service providers (under the GDPR referred to as a Processor), Mensen met een Missie and the Processor have made clear agreements about the processing and the security of the personal data (recorded in a processor agreement).

Website visit data and cookies

The internal management system of the Mensen met een Missie website stores some general website visit data (including the time of visit and the IP address of your computer).
