In Uganda a civil war between the national army and rebel forces has been raging for years. The north and the south of the country are still suffering from the consequences of this terrible conflict. Mutual trust is non-existent and conflict – over land and property – is still solved by force of arms. Mensen met een Missie has played a crucial role in supporting the peace process and the resolution of the many conflicts in the northern regions of Uganda. Mensen met een Missie brings enemies together at the conference table. Together we struggle for a peaceful resolution of conflicts. We also offer support for war victims, enabling them to deal with their trauma’s and work towards building a future.
Our commitment has brought structural change, improving the peace situation and the harmony between the communities. Thousands of Ugandans have learned how to conduct peaceful dialogue, and mutual trust has increased.
Our mission is a decent existence for everyone.
We empower people and enable them to
improve their own lives.
